A book podcast!

Beach reads with Jesus

It's the summer holidays, the sun is making you a puddle, and there is absolutely nothing to do except lie on the beach and read. But it can be lonely with nobody to share in your bookish adventures. What are you going to do about it?

If you are, like me, too lazy and unsociable to join a book club, it's likely that you're out on some stimulating book talk. Luckily, technology provides an alternative - a book podcast! You can be a passive jelly, curled up in bed, and still be part of an ongoing conversation about the joys and woes of reading. I'm sure there are many book podcasts out there, but I've been loving Reading Glasses, a podcast on the Maximum Fun network hosted by Mallory O'Meara (the mermaid) and Brea Grant (the turtle-woman). Each episode centres around a theme/genre, and includes book recommendations, banter, a book tech corner, and an interview with an author. As well as entertainment, I've gotten genuinely useful information out of this podcast, and I think it's one every book lover should try.

You can find the podcast here: http://www.maximumfun.org/shows/reading-glasses

Happy listening!
